LTC Scott A. Jackson
Lieutenant Colonel Scott Jackson entered the United States Army on 20 May 1990 upon receiving a commission as a Second Lieutenant and graduation from the University of Notre Dame. As an Infantry Officer, LTC Jackson has served in leadership positions in Airborne, Air Assault, and Mechanized Infantry Units.
His most recent assignments include Lead Operational Planner for the First Cavalry Division during its deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OCT 2003). In this capacity, LTC Jackson developed the 1CD Campaign Plan for Baghdad during OIF II, additional significant responsibilities included developing and coordinating the division’s non-lethal effects and reconstruction efforts as the Effects Coordinator. LTC Jackson completed OIF II as the Executive Officer for 2nd Battalion 7th Cavalry Regiment and participated in its assault into Najaf, Iraq (August 2004) and Fallujah, Iraq (November 2004).
Following redeployment, LTC Jackson served as the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT) Operations Officer and later as the Executive Officer. LTC Jackson deployed with 3HBCT in October 2006 and was detached to serve with the Diyala Provincial Reconstruction Team, as the Deputy Team Leader and Senior Coalition Advisor to the Governor of Diyala.
Lieutenant Colonel Jackson is a native of South Bend, Indiana. His educational background includes a baccalaureate degree from the University of Notre Dame, two Masters Degrees, and he is a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College and the School of Advanced Military Studies.
CSM Ronnie R. Kelley
Command Sergeant Major Ronnie R. Kelley assumed responsibilities of the 1st Battalion, 5th Calvary Regiment on 8 April 2008. He is a native of Bryan, Texas and enlisted in the Army on 16 July 1985.
CSM Kelley recently served as the 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division Operations Sergeant Major. His previous assignments included 1-5 Cavalry Battalion, 2-12 Cavalry Battalion, Combat Maneuver Training Center, 2-8 Cavalry Battalion, 2-70 Armor Battalion, 4-70 Armor Battalion, 1-35 Armor Battalion, 2-7 Cavalry Squadron, and 2-34 Armor Battalion.
CSM Kelley served in a variety of positions to include M60A3 tank driver and gunner, M1A1 gunner and tank commander, Platoon Sergeant, Observer Controller, and First Sergeant. He has completed all levels of the Noncommissioned Officers Enlisted Schools.
CSM Kelley’s awards and decorations include Bronze Star with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with 7 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal seventh award, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Korean Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, NATO Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal Saudi Arabia, Kuwait Liberation Medal Kuwait, Combat Action Badge and Driver’s Badge.
In addition, CSM was inducted into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, received the Order of St. George and is a member of Excellence in Armor.
