MEDIA ESCORT

All news media representatives planning to cover events on Fort Hood must be escorted by a member of the post's Public Affairs Office, or will be refused entry to Fort Hood. Call 254-287-0106 or 0104 to request a PAO escort, or fax your request to 254-288-2750. Members of the news media who have a personal affiliation with the military (spouse or family member) and have a DoD decal are instructed to call the PAO at the numbers above for escort when reporting a story. Due to the limited number of PAO staff members available to provide escort, media are asked to request escort support as far in advance as possible.

LOCAL NEWS - Members of the greater Fort Hood community have access via Time Warner Cable to news from several TV and radio stations across Central Texas - to include extensive information on their websites. Newspapers from the surrounding communities may be purchased at many of the Post Exchange snack bars and at some FMWR facilities. News from the Killeen Daily Herald, Copperas Cove Leader-Press, the Temple Daily Telegram is also available to through subscription services, or via their respective websites.

Local TV stations include KCEN Channel 6 (NBC), KWTX Channel 10 (CBS), KXXV Channel 25 (ABC), and KNCT Channel 46 (PBS). The Fort Hood area is serviced by many radio stations offering a wide variety of music styles, news, weather and sports.
